Scope of Work and Terms and Conditions for Designumbra Private Limited

  • Designumbra will not undertake CIVIL, CARPENTRY, or ELECTRICAL works, breaking or fixing of false ceilings, partitions, or debris removal.
  • The areas where Designumbra will operate (e.g., wall spaces, interior/exterior locations) must be prepared and free from any interdependencies for work to COMMENCE.
  • The work area must be free of debris and dust before Designumbra starts the job.
  • For sites smaller than 5,000 sq. ft., the entire site must be ready, according to Designumbra specifications. For sites larger than 5,000 sq. ft., at least 80% of the site must be ready.
  • The wall surfaces will be prepared by the client using a coat of Water-based primer, followed by 2 coats of acrylic putty, and sealed with a final coat of water-based primer. This is not included in Designumbra's scope.
  • The floor surface must be levelled evenly using cement plaster/mortar, tiles, or flat granite with mortar underneath for flooring applications.
  • The client must provide basic amenities including electrical points, lighting, water sources, and fans at the site.
  • The client is responsible for protection of furniture, objects, flooring, and other materials/surfaces at the site from damages during the application by the Designumbra team.
  • Providing, installing, and removing scaffolding is not included in Designumbra’s scope. The client must ensure scaffolding complies with industry safety standards.
  • The client shall provide a dry and secure storage space for raw materials and tools, having lock and key for storing the material at the end of each day of work. Losses due to lack of security at the site will be borne by the client.
  • Designumbra team will remove all Designumbra work-related debris from the worksite upon completion. The client is responsible for any additional waste disposal beyond what is directly related to Designumbra work.
  • Designumbra will not be responsible for repairing any damage to finished surfaces caused by other vendors or personnel not part of the Designumbra team.
  • Designumbra reserves the right to take pictures of the project for records. If confidentiality is required, the client must indicate this, and it will be respected.

Terms and Conditions

  • The charges specified in the quotation include transportation, supply of materials, and application services up to the final finish of the work, (excluding the following: Surface preparation, Primer application, Putty work) and are limited to projects within the city limits of Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, and Delhi. For projects beyond the city limits, additional costs shall be borne by the client.
  • The client upon acceptance of the quotation, is required to return a signed copy of the proposal to Designumbra, agreeing to final area in Square Feet, finishes and colours for each of the designated areas in confirmation with the Designumbra Operations Manager.
  • Any modifications to the Area, Finishes, or Colours after confirmation requires a Separate Agreement that will result in Additional Charges. Such modifications to the acknowledged quotation will lead to delays in execution of the project. Only with the client acceptance to the revised timelines and additional costs, DU’s Operational Manager will communicate it in Writing which must be Approved before further work is Commenced.
  • If the revised quote requires additional materials to be sent to the site, the extra transportation costs and relevant material costs will be quoted separately. Such Additional costs must be Paid for in FULL, prior to the completion of the application to the final finish.
  • If changes to the Area, finish, or colours or site-related issues result in Idle Time for the application team, a Charge of Rs. 3500 (Rupees Three Thousand and Five Hundred) per day per applicator will apply.
  • Work will commence at the site only upon confirmation of the quotation and receipt of the advance payment as specified in the terms of the quotation. If a booking amount has been received, the same will be adjusted against the specified advance payment.
  • Once the Quotation is Confirmed and Full Payment is made, the client acknowledges and agrees that No cancellations or Refunds will be allowed.
  • The client is responsible for ensuring all details (area, finishes, colours) are correct before signing and confirming the quotation.
  • Any queries related to products, application and timelines must be directed to the Designumbra Operations Manager and not the application team. The application team is not authorized to answer product, application and timeline related queries.
  • The Final finish of the coat will be matched to a precision of 90 to 95% compared to the Sample Finish selected and Approved by the client.
  • As the work is Hand-crafted, slight variations of 5-10% in colour, texture, and finish across large surfaces are inherent to the process. These differences should not be considered defects. Moreover, any patchwork or repair work cannot be executed post completion. Unlike the conventional paint jobs, any attempt at patchwork will be Visible and may not Match the Original Finish.
  • No verbal changes to the final finish will be accepted once it has been finalized and Payment has been made. Any request for changes to the final finish after the client's approval will require a Fresh Quotation. Any rework will only commence once the new quotation is accepted and payment is received.
  • Payment Terms
    • Advance: 100% of quotation value of the total project cost is required to be paid to Designumbra Private Limited before work commences. This deposit is non-refundable once materials have been delivered to the work location.
    • Progress Payments: For larger projects, payments may be required at key milestones (e.g., completion of a specific area, floor, or period). These milestones will be specified in the contract or quotation shared with the Client
    • Payment Method: Payments can only be made via UPI, BANK TRANSFER (NEFT/RTGS/IMPS), Demand Draft (DD), or CHEQUE. Kindly cooperate with us as Designumbra will not accept any Cash Payments from its clients.
  • Cancellation & Refund Policy: If a Cancellation request is raised within 15 days and before material dispatch, 100% of the advance paid will be refunded after deducting cost of physical /onsite samples if any that have been created for the client.
  • Work Schedule & Delays
    • Work Hours: Work will be carried out during the agreed-upon hours unless otherwise specified.
    • Delays: Any delays due to weather conditions, supply chain disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances will be promptly communicated. The Contractor will not be held liable for delays beyond their control
  • By signing this quotation and/or making payment, the client accepts the terms, conditions, and scope of work outlined.
  • These terms shall be governed by the laws of India and subject to the jurisdiction of Hyderabad, Telangana.
